What is a Daily Money Manager?
A Daily Money Manager (DMM) serves as a personal financial assistant and advocate, managing routine tasks for individuals who are unable or prefer not to handle them. They provide crucial support by working closely with clients, such as seniors or busy professionals, to ensure that monthly bills are paid promptly, accounts are reconciled, and important tax and medical paperwork is organized. This professional support helps prevent late fees and financial exploitation, offering the peace of mind, security, and independence that comes from well-managed finances.
What working with Homestead Money Management looks like:
I will meet with you in person or remotely monthly to review your budget and financial transactions, sort through mail, review large upcoming expenses, and answer your financial questions. Coming into tax season, necessary documents will be compiled. In between appointments, bills will be paid, transactions monitored, and any potentially fraudulent activity will be brought to your attention right away. Additional services such as working with your Financial Advisor and Attorney, mail reduction, and file organization offered as needed.
Who could use DMM Services?
Busy Professionals, Frequent Travelers, Multiple Property Owners and High Net Worth Individuals
As a busy professional the last thing you want to think about when you get home is paying bills and tending to the details of household paperwork. If you frequently travel, staying on top of your bills at home can be a burden. A DMM can help you manage ALL your personal day-to-day financial affairs. You can feel confident that your bills will be paid on time and receive a detailed financial report each month that is accurate and confidential.
Seniors or those with special needs and their families
A DMM helps make it possible for seniors to remain independent and maintain dignity, while staying financially secure and reducing stress for themselves and their families.
If you oversee a loved one's finances, a DMM can help manage their day-to-day needs while empowering them to make important financial decisions (with your guidance as needed). We monitor their accounts for unusual activity while also ensuring they remain up to date with paperwork and bills. We can also act as advocates and liaisons with local care managers, insurance representatives, accountants, and other professionals to ease the time-consuming burden of managing these relationships, particularly from afar. Open enrollment & employee communication.
People going through a difficult stage of life
An unexpected loss of a loved one, medical emergency, or a divorce can be extremely overwhelming; especially to those who were not the primary financier in the family. We work with people taking on these challenging times to be sure all financial needs are met and there is one less thing weighing on their minds and taking up their valuable time.
“I’ve had the privilege of watching Deb step in and support an aging couple during one of the most difficult chapters of their lives. They were facing serious health issues, major lifestyle changes, and a stressful relocation and their finances had become overwhelming. Deb handled it all with a level of care that went far beyond “managing accounts.”
Her attention to detail is remarkable. She tracked every transaction across multiple accounts, met tight deadlines, and organized complicated financial activity with precision. But what moved me most wasn’t her skill, it was her heart. She approached every emotional conversation with patience and dignity, treating them not just as clients, but as human beings navigating a vulnerable moment. She brought calm to chaos, and confidence to uncertainty. I’ve worked with many professionals, but few who deliver both expertise and compassion at this level.
I would highly recommend Deb to anyone seeking this type of support for themselves or someone for whom they care about.”
